Simply put, Standard Shipping is FREE to any address in the contiguous 48 states on all orders over $100! On all shipments, there is a nominal $4.95 HANDLING charge per shipment to help cover our costs of assembling and packaging your entire order. You are charged for handling only ONCE PER ORDER no matter how many items you buy. We suppose we could bury the handling charge in our product pricing but we'd rather give you the option of burying more items in your order to reduce the handling cost per item. Pretty crafty huh? OK, maybe not. There are no outrageous mark-ups hidden within shipping charges.
In the event that you provide us with the wrong shipping address and your package has already shipped, there will be a rerouting fee. Incorrect shipping address re-rerouting fee for hot tub covers is $125.00, and $25.00 for non-cover orders.
We offer expedited shipping options as a service to our customers with the exception of Spa Cover orders. Expedited shipping charges will be added to the order. Cutoff time for expediting an order is 2:00 PM (Central Time), Monday through Friday.
About Spa Cover Shipping
Spa covers normally take about 3 - 6 weeks from the time of order to actual delivery (time varies by location). That's about a week and a half in production and seven days in transit. Spa Covers are shipped by LTL (Less Than Truckload), a tractor trailer, and require someone to accept and sign for the delivery. Please call us to order at 1.800.770.0292.
Currently we do not ship to Canada, Hawaii or Alaska.
Our Featured Products this month is our line of spa oxidizers, otherwise known as non-chorine spa shock. Non-chlorine shock is used in spas with bromine, ozone or mineral systems, to oxidize contaminants in the spa water, and restore shine and brilliance to dull or cloudy spa water.
The most common spa shock used is an oxygen based Potassium MonoPerSulfate, or MPS for short, which is compatible with bromine, chlorine, mineral systems, salt systems and ozone generators. Fine granules dissolve almost instantly, and only a single capful is needed to fully oxidize your spa water. You can also use chlorine granules to shock a spa, like our Spa 56 or other chlorine granules, but many spa owners prefer to shock a spa using MPS.
SPA SHOCK USES: Spa shock is used to kill (oxidize) contaminants in your hot tub that could be unhealthy. Pathogens such as viruses, bacteria and other germs can escape normal sanitation treatment, but succumb under a proper dose of spa shock. Spa shock also removes particles that cause cloudy, oily or smelly spa water.
Hot tub shock is also used to reactivate bromide ions into bromine to maintain daily and consistent levels of bromine in the water, with or without the use of bromine tablets.
The third use of hot tub shock is to remove combined chlorine and combined bromine molecules, aka chloramines and bromamines, which give off a strong odor and are ineffective sanitizers. Shocking the spa breaks apart these molecules, and clears the way for active sanitizers to get the work done.
SPA SHOCK DOSAGE: Consult the product label for correct dosage for your spa size, in gallons. Generally speaking, 1-2 ounces of MPS shock is sufficient for most spas and hot tubs of 300-400 gallons. The dosage can be increased to correct adverse water conditions, such as cloudy water, algae or mold, or for spas that are used heavily. Your personal experience with dosage amounts, and how your water responds, can be used to adjust dosage rates.
SPA SHOCK FREQUENCY: For spas that are have low usage, shocking once every week or two is usually sufficient, assuming good water balance, good daily sanitation (chlorine, bromine, ozone, minerals), and good daily filtration. For spas with heavier usage, more frequent use of spa shock becomes necessary to maintain water quality. Controlling higher contaminant levels may require weekly, twice weekly, or even daily shock treatments for heavily used commercial spas. Your personal experience will guide your hand in how often shock is needed, by noting how the water looks, feels and smells, before and after.
Hot Tub Works is proud to offer MPS spa shock from Spa Frog, Leisure Time, Rendezvous, SeaKlear and Zodiac. Shock your spa twice per month, or more if needed, to help maintain clear and healthy spa water for you and your family.
