I recently changed out my spa pump motor. It is a 230v 1.5hp 2 speed pump. It is supposed to start up in the high speed and then you switch it to the slow speed. It starts in the slow speed and runs in the slow speed after it is switched. I tried switching the wires on the motor but it still does the same thing. Being that it is a brand new motor is it possible my control panel is faulty? Is there a way to test the panel to see if that is the problem? I have been on the phone with the pump manufacturer and panel manufacturer and haven't had any luck yet. I am looking for any suggestions.

Does your topside panel have a light or symbol that comes on when you push the pump button? If so does come on when you push the button for high speed, or can you hear the relay on the circuit board click when you push the button? If not I would suspect the topside panel. If it does come on, and or hear the relay click then the topside is doing it's job and I would then check the circuit board. There really isn't anyway to test the topside without plugging a new one in.
Can you tell me how the motor is wired, or what positions the white, red, and black wires are on.
