Hello, I just got a used LA Spa and am havome some trouble. The low speed pump will only stay on for about 90 seconds, and when you switch the high speed pump on it shuts everything down immediately. Once the low speed pump shuts off you have to wait about a min to get either to turn back on. I hear the clicking when the buttons are pressed. So, I believe that the relays are working properly, I just don't know why it would shut down like that. I hope that I am providing enough information for someone to help me out.
The Spa is a 2004 LA Spa with an Advanced Spa pack # DS-404. Single pump, air operated topside.
Thank you.

When the spa pump does run for that first 90 seconds is water flowing out of the jets properly? When you say everything shuts down when you turn on high speed is the breaker tripping or does the pump just quit?

Yes, water does flow from the jets. Only the pump shuts down. I have now verified that there is 240V going into the pump. This makes me believe that something is wrong with the electric motor. It seems like the motor is over heating and shutting down. Am I on the right track here? Thank you for your help.

Yes you are, that is where I was going next. It sounds like the thermal overload is tripping on pump.
