Looking for a thermal/insulated wrap (like what goes on a water heater) to go around the outside of a 60" hot tub.More to reduce noise than retain heat.Does this exist? Bad idea? thanks.

Are you going to install this behind the wood panels? If so and the spa is not foam filled then you can use house insulation. You should not insulate the equipment area due to overheat issues. The equipment needs ventilation to work properly.

Right Mary i am agree with you, Mr Tasker you can use house insulation for this activity. And insulating the equipment area is not good due to the issue of overheat. Because ventilation is very much important for heating equipment.
Thanks
