Is it my heater???

I have a Vita Alure LC500 spa, purchased 12-2001, and all seems well except it won't heat. The little Heat pump circulates the water, the other two large pumps run, although not all speeds. The tub is just cold. The main panel indicated the heater is on & the temp is set to 104. It's just cold. So I'm inclined to suspect the ovboius conclusion that the heater is dead. My trouble shooting page in the manual indicates there is an error code for a bad heater, am H1 or H2 error code, but I do not see any error codes on the display. Is there a possability another component could cause the heater to not turn on, maybe a cheap fuse? I'd hate to but a new pump only to find out if there is another issue, afterall if the heater is dead shouldn't I get the error code?

You would need to verify that the circuit board is suppling the heater with power when the heater indicator is on during a heat call. If it is then the heater is bad, if not then circuit board is bad.

Don't have access to a volt tester / meter thing. Any other way to test other than that? I hoping it is the heater cause it would be an easier repair. Is there no fuse in the heater circut I could replace or alternative test I could perform?

It would be difficult to test a fuse without a meter. Usually the fuses will protect the pumps and other components. Since the heat indicator is coming on I suspect it would be the heater that is bad but I can't say 100% since we cannot verify that the circuit board is suppling it power.

If I ordered a new pupm & it turns out it is the circut board, can I return the pump?

I am thinking more likely the heater may be bad. We will except new parts back within 30 days of purchase but you would be responsible for the freight back as well as a 10% restock. Also the part must be new condition.

OK I went and purchased a volt tester and found no voltage at the heater. I also now have an issue wiht the circulation pump. When I turn the power on it runs briefly and I hear a click and it stops, a few minutes pass then it comes on for a few minutes and then click again. So are we talking about a circut board now? And If so what am I looking at price wise?

More info from today's testing. Earlier I said the heat indicator was working but was looking at the filtering icon. I can get the heat indicator to show on the screen but only briefly. If I push the heat indicator up to increase the temp the heat indicator flashes but only for a short while and it goes out. The water temp is reading 64 degrees.

The pump has to be on in order for the heater to come on. This problem with the pump cutting off is why you are not getting voltage to the heater. It is sounding more like a circuit board problem.
