Before you order your new pump you need to stop and really look at what you have . There are dozens of different type SPA Pumps used today --some interchange and sadly some do not. Do the terms Square Flange , Bolt Through or C frame mean anything to you ?? I didnt think so. These are a few Very important things you do need to know or you will not get the pump you need.
There is a lot of info on HotTubWorks.com web site about this subject.
Keep in mind too that increasing the HP of your new pump most likely wont increase your jet pressure. All pumps run at the same RPM -so the speed wont change.
Most manufacturers have UP-rated pump assemblies --this simply means that one pump can be used for several different applications -- It may say 3.0hp on the data tag but it may have a 2.0hp impeller inside the wetend -- so if you had a 2.0hp to begin with and you figured you would bump up a little to get more jet pressure ---well you can see that you are right back where you started. This same pump would also be used in a 3.0hp application except it would have a 3.0 impeller inside-- this is such a small change that one motor can run either or.
also -------- you need to know that your pump assembly is 2 different parts. You have a motor --and you have a Pump or wet end.
Any info you get from the Data tag on the motor --doesnt help us in determining which Wet end you have. So.. we really need to ID your wet end and get the Specs from the motor. BOTH are equally important.
