Hi Everyone, I have a spa and I am having trouble with it. I bought it new about 5 years ago and hooked it up and it worked great. I had to disconect it due to a move and I never set it back up. I set it up a week or 2 ago and started it up and it is supposed to go through a purge stage before normal operations. Well it says purge but the pump doesnt turn on. After that I have to press the jets button to make them turn on. then I only have one speed. it also isnt running automaticly when the heat is on. Any ideas would be great. I don't know much about electronic guts so go easy on me.

Hi
It could be that one of the wires on the motor got disconnected in the move. You may need to remove the cover off the back of the pump motor to check connection. The black and red wires are for the low speed and high speed on the pump motor. Typically black wire is for low speed which is used for heating.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to trace the power back to the pump using a small tester. When the pump is on low it turns on and runs fine.Power to one wire. Then when I turn the pump on high, Power to both wires, the pump does nothing. I checked the cord and there is power right up to the motor but it doesnt turn on. All theconections are good and tight. Whats my next move? Does the pump need to be replaced or rebuilt?

Yes it sounds like the pump/motor needs to be replaced if you are getting power to it.

If you are getting power to both the red and black wires at same time when on high your circuit board relay sounds like it may be stuck. This would be a circuit board issue.
