View Full Version : control board or air leak
have Coleman Spa. The Sensors have been checked , work fine. My topside control board says it was the sensor. but it is fine. I would press button and you would hear a click then a humm and then no sound. motor would not do any thhing. I put a hose into fiter housing to get air out. then it worked fine for a while. then stopped. local company said i may have had a power surge and hurt the spa control inside the main box. I will refill tub to try to make sure air bubble is out of heater element, then what?

If it is an air lock you can try loosening the pump union (http://www.hottubworks.com/SpaParts/PumpUnions.php)just slightly to allow a small amount of water to trickle out. If air is in the system you should here it coming out while union is loosened. If that does not repair it and pump (http://www.hottubworks.com/SpaParts/SpaPumps.php) is still doing same thing you would need to verify that the circuit board (http://www.hottubworks.com/SpaParts/ElectricalCircuitBoards.php)is supplying the pump power after the topside panel (http://www.hottubworks.com/SpaParts/CabinetSides.php)button has been pushed to turn it on, and since you hear a click you know the topside is sending the signal to the board to turn on the pump so that is not the issue. If the board is supplying the motor the correct voltage and motor humms but will not start it sounds like the pump motor (http://www.hottubworks.com/SpaParts/PumpMotors.php)is the issue.
