View Full Version : OH, then "- - - -" in display, Sundance Cameo

In my Sundance Cameo series 850:

I have the power turn off to the spa since it's malfunctioning, but when the 220 Volt breaker is closed and power applied to the spa, the circulation pump runs for 1 second then stops, the top side display briefly shows "OH", then the watchdog "- - - -" appears.

The water temp is about 85º, flow switch was working last I viewed it, and filters are new.

What is the likely problem?

Thank you.

If you are comfortable using a voltage meter I would first verify that the spa circuit board (http://www.hottubworks.com/SpaParts/ElectricalCircuitBoards.php) is supplying the circulation pump (http://www.hottubworks.com/part-6500-035-item-laing-spa-pump.php) power after it shuts down. But it sounds like your circulation pump (http://www.hottubworks.com/part-6500-035-item-laing-spa-pump.php) is going out or debris is in the pump impeller (http://www.hottubworks.com/SpaParts/PumpParts.php).

How I diagnosed and solved the problem:

I disconnected the temperature probe from the circuit board (very easy to do). This now eliminated the erroneous signal to the circuit board, freeing it up to activate the circulation pump, heater, and flow-switch. Everything works now, except measuring the water temperature.

I replaced the temperature probe. Now all is well.

I'm not sure if this strategy would work with other spas or other similar problems, but it solved mine.

Could you elaborate how you replaced the temp probe? I assume you drained the tub?, What else?
Thanks
