Heater on Sequoia SL850 troubleshooting

Hey all, new to the forum. I have a Sequoia SL850 that no longer has heat. I have been in the electronics/computer industry for many years, not afraid to use a meter, healthy respect for electricity, can read schematics, etc. Now that some background is put of the way, the heat has quit on my SL850, and rather jump in and just start yanking wires, I would like advice as to where to start. Years of experience has taught me to ask the experts rather than go in as a "I can fix anything". I aquired the spa for just removing it, and have enjoyed it for several years,(I installed the spa myself, ran the wiring, did the hookup,etc). Any advice on troubleshooting tips or tricks on this problem? The better half is on my case, first spa she has had constant acces to, so I am under the gun......more specifically.........a 357.............again any help is greatly appreciated.

The first thing you need to find out is if there is proper water flow going through the heater (http://www.hottubworks.com/SpaParts/HeatersLanding.php). Try removing the spa filter (http://www.hottubworks.com/HotTubSpaFilters/Filter_Search.php) and see if that makes a difference. If no difference then you need to determine that the heater is getting power to it. Turn up the thermostat to put the spa in a heat call. If the spa has an indicator or light showing that the heater is suppose to be on take note that the indicator is on. If it is on then you need to take a voltage reading at the heater terminals to verify it is getting power. If the heater is a 220V you would want to take the reading across both and red and black wire power wires and not one leg to ground to verify you are getting 220V.
