Hot springs sovereign spa

Hi

I recently purchased a secondhand hot springs sovereign spa on the cheap. I have been told its a 1993 model but the serial # is 10723 which is apparently not what it should be. I got it cheap as it needs a pump and the cabinet needs repairs. I'm also chasing a manual for this spa as i have no idea how spa's works as this is my first spa.


Any help would be greatly appreciated

Most manufactures will have downloadable owners manuals on their website. Yes this does not look like a 1993 serial number, there should be six numbers with the first designating what quarter and the second number would designate what year the spa was manufactured. Mary; does anyone make a salt water hot tub or can a tub be converted to salt water?


My wife's got a problem with the chlorine and her skin and the gas on her breathing.

I am not sure which manufactures use a salt system. The best way to know is to visit the manufactures web sites. They will show what type of sanitizers they have to offer. There are also sites out there that sell salt water systems to add onto your existing spa, I put in portable spa salt water systems. The only thing that I would caution you is your heater manifold may rust and leak. Also if you have metal escutcheons on your jets they may rust as well.

Have you tried different types of sanitizers other than chlorine (http://www.hottubworks.com/HotTubChemicals/)? Bromine (http://www.hottubworks.com/HotTubChemicals/) is a common product to use if you have a problem with chlorine, another option would be a Nature2 mineral system (http://www.hottubworks.com/part-WNATURE2-item-hottub-mineral-sanitizer.php). This is a very good alternitive to chlorine.
