Balboa Thermowell 30388-CLR has a clear color face on the spa side. Thru-wall type of spa sensor thermowell is a ""Wet Well"", and is used on many types of modern day spas using Balboa controls.

Thermowells are used to house sensor bulbs, used for high limit and temperature sensing. A dry well is a thermowell where the sensing bulb is not wet by water but is dry, housed inside of a thermowell that is immersed in water. A Wet well is one in which the temperature sensor is in direct contact with the water. Over time with rushing water and chemicals, thermowells can begin to deteriorate and seals may begin to leak. When installing, use a high quality silicone sealant like BOSS.
