Great basic info on ozone, thanks. I wanted to elaborate on the subject of zoos and aquariums using ozone. Ozone is, for the most part, mandatory in zoos and aquariums. But why? Because chemicals make the animals sick, sometimes changes their color (like Polar Bears). Using ozone reduces liability and since the water is so crystal clear (except after the San Diego Hippo drops one), and Polar Bear hair (actually tubes, not hair) stays white, customers keep going. What I don't get is why don't we treat ourselves the same way? Our pool and spa water is nasty, toxic and UNNECESSARY. Ozone is affordable and easy to use, and as you read in Jack's post, it's been around a long time.

Go ozone!
