AquaROCK Spas Triple-Bond Spa Shell
- AquaROCK Spa shells are manufactured using a triple bond process resulting in the industry’s thickest and strongest shell. An AquaROCK Spa shell starts out with a beautiful layer of Lucite Acrylic with Micro-ban that is bonded with a layer of A.B.S thermoplastic. These two layers are put through a convection-like oven at 550 degrees where they are literally melted together forming a chemical bond that fuses them into one component. The newly bonded Lucite Acrylic then gets placed into a spa mold, and gets vacuum-formed to create the spa shape. After the shell cools, it goes to the spray room for its final process…reinforced, environmentally sound StrongBond. The Strong Bond is sprayed, and it immediately starts to harden forming an unbreakable chemical bond. The StrongBond rigidizing process not only creates a greater shell thickness and strength, but it also provides extra heat retention as well.
- StrongBond is constructed of a polyurethane resin, a highly versatile synthetic plastic that does not emit any harmful styrene or pollutants into the environment, unlike spas made with fiberglass.
