Main spa pumps do the "heavy lifting" of the moving water through your hot tub's jets. They consist of a motor and a "wet end" which contains impellers for forcing water through your spa's plumbing and out the jets. It's especially important to get the voltage and horsepower of your pump right (see diagram below) as too little power will result in wimpy water pressure out of your jets and too much can actually damage your spa (and maybe even you!).
